Last night the IOF carried out a brutal massacre of Palestinians in western Rafah. One of the areas that was supposed to be “safe”, but as Bisan Owda has emphasized over and over, there is no safe place in Gaza.

What bombs do to human bodies was on full display. It is a sight that will haunt those who witnessed it for the rest of their lives. For the lives it cut short, all those sheltering in tents, and shipping containers, this should not have been their last moments.

The label of “war crimes” has not stopped these atrocities. The International Court of Justice cannot seem to stop these atrocities. Demands for the United States to stop funding these deaths are not being heeded.

I will not give into despair because that is what the death machine wants. Carve out the space to honor these martyrs. “Keep throwing whatever we can at the death machine” to paraphrase Rasha Abdulhadi. This can take on many forms, as long as Palestinian voices and needs are being centered or even other connected liberation struggles. The goal is to not check out. You don’t have to keep it cranked up to 100 percent all the time. Add some variance in intensity. However, western attention is important to the cause. Please don’t let it wane.
